Mysore Pak
Mysore Pak was first prepared in the kitchens of the Mysore Palace. The cook at the Mysore Palace made a sweet of gram flour, ghee, and sugar and simply called it ‘Mysore Pak’. Pak in Sanskrit and other Indian vernaculars means sweet. It is traditionally served in weddings and other festivals of southern India. It is very popular in baby showers too. Ingredients • Gram flour - 1/2 cup. • Water - 1/2 cup. • Ghee - 1/2 cup. • Sugar - 2 cups. • Oil - 1/2 cup. Method: Sugar Syrup:- Take sugar in a thick bottomed saucer, add water and let it boil till it comes to form a softball ( check this by dropping syrup in a water bowl) Take besan gram flour in a bowl and mix hot oil and then sieve it. . Keep heating oil and ghee in a separate pan. Now add the gram flour gradually to the sugar syrup and keep stirring so that no lumps are formed.
