Ragi Semiya
Ingredients for Ragi sweet Semiya
Cooked ragi semiya - 1/2 cup
Grated Coconut - 3 Tbsp (adjust according to taste)
Brown Sugar - 2 tbsp (adjust according to taste)
Cardamom powder - 2 tsp
Ingredients for Ragi Upma
Cooked ragi semiya - 1/2 cup
Onion - 1
Green chilli - 2
Ginger -⅓ inch grated
Garlic - 2 pods chopped
Oil - 1 tsp
Mustard - 3/4 tsp
Urad dal - 1 tsp
Chana dal - 2 tsp
Peanut - 1 tbsp (optional)
Curry leaves - 5-6 leaves
Salt - As per taste
Method to cook Ragi Semiya
Soak ragi in water for 3 minutes. Drain water completely.
steam for 4-5 minutes in a steamer (Idli pot),
Once done remove and keep aside.
Method to cook Ragi upma
In a kadai, heat oil and temper with Mustard,Urad dal,Chana dal,and
Curry leaves.Then and sliced onion, slit green chilli and grated ginger.

Fry till onion turn transparent.
Add required salt and half of the cooked ragi semiya and mix well.
Method to cook sweet ragi semiya,
Add coconut, sugar, salt and cardamom
to rest of the cooked semiya and mix well.
Notes
Do not soak more than 3 minutes else the semiya will become mushy.
Sugar must be added to sweet version only once the ragi semiya is
cooled down.When buying ragi semiya look into the ingredients to
check if it is made with ragi and wheat as some are made with ragi and maida
